Living Life

Strangely, we don't hope for misery in life, and yet our lives always steer toward it. No matter how hard we avoid going down that route by taking another. Moments later, we find ourselves in the same place all over again. It's like we never left.

It feels as if we are destined to face a constant shower of misery from the day we opened our eyes to slowly closing them before sleep. We make changes around every corner of our lives, hopefully thinking these changes might slay the demon that has been chasing us forever.

The changes we make create a small portal to the land of escapism, like throwing a pebble on a calm lake. The ripples it creates might feel huge at first, but after a while, the lake takes the shape of its former self. For a moment, we felt different, so we constantly threw pebbles at the lake so the ripple would never stop forming.

But reality holds us down and makes us face the demon. The glowing red eyes are piercing; they can see through us. All the experience we gained in life and all the knowledge we obtained don't even offer any help when we look into the eyes of the monster.

It has been a long time since we faced something truly terrifying, as negligence has gained us a shield around our bodies. At least that's what we thought, and we soon learned nothing ever disappears in life. Everything is still there in our bodies, and all the regret, happiness, and bad memories still thrive in our blood.

All we did is we tried our very best to avoid the demon. Over time we made ourselves believe that we have successfully thrown away all those thoughts from our heads. In reality, everything that we through of still appears fresh as the day we made them.

Now everything is worse. Not acknowledging the demon for a long time made the monster only bigger than before.

But we achieve serenity in our heads when we face all the things we have done in our lives as we face a wall, a dead end. The only choice we have here is to live through it. We start seeing the world as naked as we were when we came to this land.

All our life, we thought misery was something we could get rid of, all to find out that we are miserable. Existence is misery, and we must chew the gum even if it contains no color, odor, or taste.
